Fontaneallee Villa

Our group was entrusted with the Fontaneallee Villa project. The town of Zeuthen is located in the southeast of Berlin-Brandenburg. The property is situated directly on the Dahme River and is nestled within a unique natural landscape.

Initially, the space planning was developed according to the individual specifications of the client and through numerous joint meetings. The open space design was implemented up to the facade. The facade of the building is composed of glass and aluminum panels, reflecting differently depending on the time of day and year, which gives the project a lively appearance and creates a dialogue with nature. This facade, among other features, makes the house an architectural highlight in the entire area.

The open design of the rooms allows for flexible use and natural communication between them. The large windows are designed to allow maximum daylight to enter. Exterior blinds control the light ingress on sunny days, contributing to a pleasant indoor climate. The floors are connected by a unique staircase with a round glass elevator, creating a harmonious flow between the different areas.

The basement includes parking for two cars and rooms for the spa area, such as a gym, pool, sauna, bathrooms, and changing rooms, which can be illuminated by daylight. Above, there is a terrace directly connected to the ground floor, designed as a Japanese garden (Zen garden).

The ground floor houses a living room, two guest bedrooms, and a custom-designed bar for the project. For cozy winter moments, an open fireplace was installed on this floor as a centerpiece of comfort. The kitchen on the first floor features a generous work area, offering a magnificent view of the natural and water landscape.

The second floor comprises a library, a dressing room, and two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The bedrooms have access to a terrace with a lake view. The client's bedroom features a double-layer skylight with a blind, providing an exclusive view of the sky. A separate spiral staircase leads to the roof, where residents can enjoy additional seating with a panoramic view. Special emphasis was placed on quality and unique design in the selection of furniture and lighting to create an individualized interior.

The garden was designed and planted with the help of landscape experts to emphasize the unique character of the house. There is also a pond that meets ecological standards.

The geometric dimensions of the property and its location along the bend of the road required a rotation of the building. This allowed for better integration of the building into the overall ensemble of the property. Due to the natural slope of the terrain and the topography, the ground floor was raised to a height of +1.40 m above street level, while the basement is partially underground and partially at a height of -2.20 m on the street side.

At first glance, the house appears to float, framed by its surroundings. The juxtaposition of cutting-edge architecture and the primeval landscape makes the house a unique structure that connects modern architecture with the natural environment.
